Giant Vietnamese Ghost Mantis
Giant Vietnamese Ghost Mantis – Parablepharis kuhlii is a type of praying mantises in the family Hymenopodidae, and the genus; Parablepharis. It is monotypic, being represented by the single species, and is found in India, Myanmar, Vietnam, Borneo, Java and Yunnan, China.
Commonly called the Ghost mantid because of its incredible shape and facial features. More recently called the “darth vader” Mantid due to the extra large appendage to the thorax resembling the Star Wars villain. In reality this Mantid resembles a leaf, possessing a camouflaged appearance perfect for hunting.
